Receivership
For a niche practice Jorden Salata may well be one of the most experienced practices in taking up Law of Property Act Receiverships and in acting for Licensed Insolvency Practitioners. Over the last 15 years we have been appointed to approximately 250 Receiverships, and appointors have included banks and building societies, such as Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Morgan Stanley and The Woolwich.
In addition we have acted for most of the key insolvency accountancy practices, including Pricewaterhousecoopers, Ernst & Young, Baker Tilly and Begbies Traynor.
The range of properties we deal with is extensive. It includes property both let and with vacant possession, office buildings, industrial properties, shops, portfolios of garages and car showrooms, blocks of apartments, uncompleted developments, nursing homes, hostels and development land.
Jorden Salata's skill is to apply their management, marketing and town planning knowledge in order to put the properties in a position where a realisation is possible. That may involve prior work on establishing a satisfactory planning brief or it may involve completing a building contract with complicated contractual problems. The objective is to weigh risk and to obtain the best realisation for the bank.
