Receivership
For a niche practice, Jorden Salata is one of the most experienced practices in taking up Law of Property Act Receiverships and in acting for licensed insolvency practitioners. Four highly experienced chartered surveyors who are also fixed charge receivers, take up appointements. Appointors have included banks and building societies such as Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Morgan Stanley, The Woolwich, Bradford and Bingley Group, Scottish Widows, Skipton Building Society, North Yorkshire Building Society, RBS and Clydesdale Bank.
In addition we have acted for most of the key insolvency accountancy practices, including PWC, KMPG, Ernst & Young, Baker Tilly and Begbies Traynor.
The range of properties we deal with is extensive, it includes "Buy to Let" portfolios throughout the UK, office buildings, industrial properties, shops, portfolios of garages and car showrooms, blocks of apartments, uncompleted developments, nursing homes, hostels and development land.
Jorden Salata's skill is to apply their management, marketing and town planning knowledge in order to put the properties in a position where a realisation is possible. That may involve prior work on establishing a satisfactory planning brief or it may involve completing a building contract with complicated contractual problems. The objective is to weigh risk and to obtain the best realisation for the bank.
